Breeding

Our goal at Bluemist Farms is to capture the wonderful qualities of the Spanish PRE horse and to share in all of its natural and trained movements of grand beauty and functionality. Our mares derived from Spanish imports have been bred with other exceptional PRE horses and have produced amazing offspring with outstanding PRE gaits and qualities soon after birth.

Our base genetics arise from breeding lines around Yeguada Militar, represented by sons of Reclamo VI (Linea Lebrijano III). In addition, we have added bloodlines of other emblematic Spanish families.

The horses that we produce are typically Bay or Black, with an occasional Grey. All of our PRE horses are inscribed or eligible for inscription to carry the Carta of the Spanish Stud Book as managed by ANCCE.

The Spanish Horse, which has been described as the Horse of Kings, its nobility, beauty and elegance in air, and exemplary movements. The horse is suitable for pleasure riding or dressage. It is known as spectacular and is a beautiful picture horse that comes in the various colors of grey, chestnut, bay and black. Its mane and tail is of spectacular beauty.

Stud Service

Stallions are available for service with preference towards PRE mares.

Colts & Fillies

Throughout the year we select offspring for sale. It is best to make arrangements early. Mares and Stallions are ANCCE revised and all newborns are inscribed or eligible for inscription.

“Breed your Own” Foals

This option allows you to select the mare and stallion of your choice for breeding. It allows you more choice of the desired characteristics and bloodlines of the offspring and can be an economical alternative to purchasing an adult horse. This is especially helpful since you can view and appreciate characteristics of both parents. The colt or filly is released to its new owner after approximately 6 months from birth.

We will consider any reasonable offer and may consider non-horse items for trade.
